We also look at the strength of the material. We do a burst test, where we apply pressure to a small piece of the paperboard until it bursts. This gives us an idea of how much internal pressure the box can withstand. Another test is the edge crush test. We stack small pieces of the paperboard on their edges and apply pressure until they collapse. This helps us understand how well the box will hold up when stacked on a shelf or in a warehouse.
Design and Pre – production Checks
Once we’ve got the right raw materials, it’s time to design the box. We work closely with our clients to understand their needs. What kind of product is going in the box? How big is it? Does it need any special features like inserts or windows?
Before we start mass – producing the boxes, we create a prototype. This prototype is like a test run. We check if the dimensions are correct. We make sure the box can be easily assembled, and that the product fits snugly inside.
We also look at the printing on the prototype. If there are any logos, text, or graphics, we check the color accuracy. We use color swatches to make sure the printed colors match the client’s specifications. And we look for any smudging or blurring in the printing.
In – production Quality Control
When we’re actually making the boxes, we have a bunch of checks in place. We have workers on the production line who are constantly inspecting the boxes as they’re being made.
One of the first things we check is the cutting. The boxes need to be cut to the right size and shape. If the cuts are off, the box might not assemble correctly. We use precision cutting tools, but even so, we have workers visually inspect each box to make sure the cuts are clean and accurate.
Next is the folding and gluing. The folds need to be sharp and consistent. We use folding machines, but the workers still keep an eye on things. They make sure the glue is applied evenly and that it sticks well. If the glue isn’t strong enough, the box might fall apart during shipping or handling.
We also check the overall appearance of the boxes. We look for any scratches, dents, or stains. Even a small blemish can make the box look unprofessional, so we’re really strict about this.
Sampling and Batch Testing
We don’t just rely on individual inspections during production. We also do sampling and batch testing. Every so often, we take a sample of boxes from a production batch and put them through a series of tests.
One of the tests is a drop test. We drop the boxes from a certain height to see if they can withstand the impact. This simulates what might happen during shipping if the box gets dropped accidentally. We do this test from different angles to make sure the box is strong all around.
We also do a vibration test. We put the boxes on a vibrating platform to mimic the movement they’ll experience during transportation. This helps us check if any parts of the box come loose or if the product inside gets damaged.
If the sample boxes pass all the tests, we can be pretty confident that the whole batch is good. But if any of the sample boxes fail, we stop the production and figure out what went wrong. We might have to adjust the machines, change the materials, or retrain the workers.
Final Inspection and Packaging
Once the production is finished, we do a final inspection. We go through every single box in the batch one last time. We check for any last – minute issues that might have been missed during the production process.
If everything looks good, we move on to packaging the boxes. We pack them carefully to make sure they don’t get damaged during storage or shipping. We use shrink – wrap or cardboard dividers to keep the boxes separate and protected.

Quality control for packaging boxes is crucial for a few reasons. First of all, it helps us keep our clients happy. If the boxes are of high quality, the products inside will be well – protected, and the clients will be more likely to come back for more.
